You could be forgiven for thinking that e-book readers are a recent innovation. You might also be under the impression that Amazon’s kindle reader was, if not the first, then certainly one of the first readers on the market. However, e-book readers have been around for over a decade now and the Kindle, first released in November 2007 wasn’t even close to being in on the ground floor. Even the Sony reader was ahead of it, having been released in 2006. However, even if it was a bit late to the party, the Kindle seems to have more than made up for lost time - it currently has a 60% share of the U.S. market and is now available in over 100 different countries worldwide.
