We got a new puppy the other day and now face the tedious (but enjoyable) task of training her not to do you-know-what in the house. Training a dog is not for the impatient. In fact, I need training about how to train her… if you know what I mean. She is one of five in the litter and absolutely adorable, but she is after all just a dog. At least, I think so until she looks at me with those puppy dog eyes and says “Gee Dad, I couldn’t help it”. Anyway, we bought a dog kennel for her thinking it would be a good idea to have her sleep there. But, then we thought maybe it isn’t smart to put her in the crate to scold her because then she wouldn’t associate the dog crate with something pleasant like taking a nap or curling up and being safe. Not sure how we are going to handle this dilemma. Any ideas you’d like to share?
