Last week, we completed two days of a manufacturing training seminar at the distribution center where my brother and I work.  When I first heard it was going to take place, I wondered what good it would do us.  We weren’t manufacturers, we distribute the manufactured goods.  It was a combined effort though, between us and a factory owned by our parent company.  To my surprise and my brother’s inspiration, it was very informative and in a matter of days we’ve seen remarkable improvements.  Kaizen, a Japanese philosophy of continued improvement, has been eagerly embraced at our work place.  My brother has decided to continue his improvement in the field and become a consultant.
