My mom never let me cook as a child. She was afraid that I would make a mess and not clean it up, or that I would burn myself, or that I would put something wrong in the mix and ruin whatever I was trying to make. So when I got married, I was absolutely clueless in the kitchen. I did finally learn, however, with the help of things such as a fool-proof brownie recipe I found on the Internet. Now I really love cooking. I just hope that I don’t make the same mistake as my mother did when my own children are old enough to cook.
